You need a level, solid base and power. Finnish saunas usually require 3× 400 V; an infrared barrel uses 230 V. We help arrange a new three-phase circuit if needed.

Permit
Often permit-free in Het Gooi.
As long as an outdoor sauna stays under the height limit, it is usually permit-free in the rear garden zone. How many square metres of outbuildings you may place without a permit depends on the size of your plot: the Environment Act works with a sliding scale, and that almost always comes out to more room than a sauna needs. Most of our outdoor saunas are low and freestanding and sit comfortably within it. We do the check with your municipality for you, even if you live outside Het Gooi.
In protected village and town conservation areas, and on historic country estates, the bar is higher. There too we look up the rules for you, at no separate charge. Should a permit be needed after all, we support you with the application. So you know where you stand before delivery.

Sleep
Why warmth helps you fall asleep.
It is not the heat itself that makes you sleepy, but what happens afterwards. Your body opens the blood vessels in your hands and feet to shed the heat you have built up, and it is that release of heat that goes together with falling asleep sooner. A meta-analysis in Sleep Medicine Reviews from 2019 saw faster sleep onset after a warm bath, one to two hours before bedtime. How that translates to the sauna is in the knowledge base, along with the limits of that evidence.
